Loaded Cheese Fries with Bacon

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes (peeled and cut into fries)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cooked bacon (crumbled)
  • ¼ cup green onions (sliced)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Optional: Jalapeño slices, ranch dressing, or chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fries:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into fries. You can choose thick or thin cuts depending on your preference.
  • Place the fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat the fries evenly.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bake the fries in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

2. Prepare the Toppings:

  • While the fries are baking, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Once cooked, transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat, then crumble into small pieces.
  • Slice the green onions into small rounds.

3. Assemble the Loaded Fries:

  • Once the fries are baked and crispy, remove them from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the fries.
  • Return the fries to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

4. Add Toppings:

  • Once the cheese has melted, remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle with crumbled bacon and green onions.
  • Serve the loaded fries with a side of sour cream for dipping. Optional: Add jalapeño slices for some heat, or drizzle with ranch dressing for extra flavor.

5. Serve:

  • Serve your loaded cheese fries with bacon while they’re hot and enjoy!
